Detailed requirements (in 2008)

1.  Type of participants

TSkilled people who desire to be social leaders in the world in the 21st century. Certain knowledge of science and technology

2.  Total number of participants: 20 persons

3.  Qualifications for application

Aged approximately 25 - 40 years
Holders of a master degree or with an equivalent education
Engineers or planners who have a few years of work experience
Persons who have fairly good communication skills of English
Persons who is living in Japan for the duration of the program (except some foreign members)

4.  Application procedures

Submit an application using the application forms. The application consists of the following.
(1)  Application form
(2)  Short essay
Choose one of these three themes: "Information and communication," "Environment and energy," or "Life science". The essay must consist of 40 characters x 40 lines (maximum) including the two themes below.
　 (1)  The latest trends in the respective technology
　 (2)  The Japanese role in the respective technology

5.  Application deadline

March 1 (Saturday), 2008 to May 16 (Friday), 2008

6.  Selection

(1)  1st round (based on the documents submitted)
(2)  2nd round (interview)
　　　Interviews are scheduled for July 2008

7.  Decision

Successful second round applicants will notified by e-mail at the end of July
